Christie: I would not have pardoned Arpaio

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said Wednesday he would not have pardoned Joe Arpaio, the controversial former sheriff of Maricopa County, Ariz.

During an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Christie called the pardon power an “extraordinary power” for any executive.

“My understanding has always been that one of the prerequisites you look for in giving a pardon is contrition for what you were convicted of,” he said.

“I didn’t see that in Sheriff Arpaio.”

    Dear Ignorant Christie
You need to go and live in Arizona or New Mexico on the border and watch the drug mules and coyotes crossing your property. Did you talk to any of the people who live with illegals moving into the US? The one thing I do know is Judges are not God and those who seek to legislate from the bench and not follow the Constitution or Federal Law would normally be impeached for misconduct like this one should have been. But you get whatever president in power gets to put in. It is understandable when a president like Obama whose mentor was an amoral atheistic Socialist who called Al Capone’s underling Frank Nitti his “professor” put this one in.

Although contrition is usually looked for, that is only AFTER a case is 100 over. Pres. Trump saved the taxpayers millions of dollars because there is no doubt in my mind that the sheriff would have taken this all the way to the SCOTUS. Why should he be contrite when he did nothing wrong? The judge was wrong, IMHO, by demanding that he violate his oath of office.

  3. Wayne Peterkin says:

And exactly why should I care what Christie would do? I think the pardon was very appropriate, Christie does not. So what? It wasn’t his decision thankfully.

  4. loretta says:

Wonder if Christy had anything to say about Obama letting out all the terrorist at Gitmo. Of course Christy wouldn’t have done what Pres. Trump did. It’s easier for so many repubs to be weineys and run away than to stand up and fight Good bless Trump

  5. DonRS says:

That is just one of the reasons that he is NOT a member of Trump’s administration. Christie does, says and thinks such silly, unnecessary self inflicted wounds. If a thought comes to Christies’ mind, out of his mouth it comes!
