This Is Why Obama Can’t Stop Our Skyrocketing Murder Rates

Screen Shot 2016-06-29 at 1.16.53 PMOur feckless leader, Barack Obama, has been pretty silent about the sudden increase in murder. It is quite possible that 2016 will have the largest increase in the national murder rate in our recorded history, but we have to wait until the end of the year to find out for sure. While the president rants and raves about mass shootings and gun control, most murders actually have nothing to do with either topic.

From the Daily Caller:

An Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) report in May found that a spike in the murder rate of more than 20 cities. “I don’t know what the answer is, but holy cow, do we have a problem,” FBI Director Jim Comey said at the time.

At the current pace Chicago will finish the year with 550 homicides. Chicago is also home to two rival cartels the Sinaloa Cartel and the Beltran-Levya cartel. This is the premise of the American Enterprise Institute’s (AEI) study, that cities with more than one cartel are those with the highest murder rate.

The AEI report found that in the 21 of 25 cities they analyzed the pattern of more cartels equaling more crime held true. Las Vegas, one of the cities which has experienced a large spike in murders, is home to three cartels.

Hmm, cities are awash with cheap heroin and gang bangers are increasingly murdering each other in turf wars, this all sounds familiar.

In the late 80’s and early 90’s America had a similar problem with cities awash in cheap crack cocaine as gang bangers gunned each other down fighting for turf.

Society didn’t sit on it’s hands and do nothing to stop the problem back in those days. America fought the rise in crime from every angle. More cops were hired, police flooded crime infested neighborhoods searching anyone behaving suspiciously. Reforms were enacted on the state, local, and federal level. Community policing and the broken windows theory of crime became all the rage. The crack epidemic was also fought by groups of concerned citizens and parents, changes were made to drug and gang prevention/education. A war on drugs was declared, federal agents stalked drug lords outside of U.S. borders. Criminals were slapped with long mandatory prison sentences. The murder rate plummeted and oddly enough, few in the media bothered to notice, they just kept droning on about gun control.

In a few short years, progressives have dismantled nearly all the reforms of the ’80s and ’90s. States are emptying their prisons in an effort to end “mass incarceration.” Community policing is dying, police are being demonized by BLM activists and are scared to death to do their jobs in the wake of the Baltimore riots. The war on drugs has been proclaimed a lost cause, few resources are dedicated to fighting it. Fewer cops are being hired in many major cities. Many critical reforms such as the broken windows theory or stop and frisk policies have been rejected and rescinded by progressive activists.

The murder rate is starting to reappear even faster than it disappeared. Most viable solutions have been already been rejected by our gun control obsessed president, take cover!
